Sean and Beverly Lincoln are a happily married English couple who are also the creators of a hit British TV show. Their life seems complete... that is, until a hugely powerful and charismatic US television network president persuades them to move to Los Angeles and recreate their show for American television. Things begin to unravel as soon as Sean and Beverly arrive in L.A. It soon becomes clear that the network executive has never even seen their show. To make matters worse, he insists that they replace their brilliant lead actor, an erudite Royal Shakespeare veteran with... Matt LeBlanc!

Beverly cant stand Matt, and the feeling is mutual. As a result Sean and Matt end up spending more time together, including an extended adventure in Las Vegas. Soon the two guys have bonded, leaving Beverly feeling excluded by her husbands new bromance.

Seans infatuation with the lovely "Pucks!" actress Morning Randolph is given an opportunity to blossom when Matt invites the two of them to a charity benefit. Sean realizes that his attraction to her may be, in fact, mutual. Meanwhile, Beverly and Carol share a joint and commiserate about the men in their lives.

As the "Pucks!" pilot wraps, a final goodbye between Matt and Sean takes an unexpected turn involving a missing Jaguar, a red-nosed reindeer, and the smell of cinnamon.

Sean and Beverlys marriage has been ripped apart by Beverlys fling with Matt. And Matts friendship with Sean appears to be beyond salvage. But as their sitcom "Pucks!" premieres in the U.S., the three are forced to find a way to continue working together.

When network head Merc Lapiduss father dies, Sean and Beverly get a lesson in grief, Hollywood-style.

Sean meets Labia, a super-fan of Matts and Morning suffers a major plastic surgery disaster. Meanwhile, Merc and Carol plan a weekend getaway to Mexico, while Jamie and Matt pack for a tryst in Napa.

The network insists that Sean and Beverly confront Matt about his recent weight gain. The star does not take the news well. Meanwhile, Beverly agrees to go out to dinner with Mornings brother Rob, even though she insists that she is terrible at dating. She is not wrong, and she turns the evening into a date from hell.

Its the night of Mercs Man of the Year event. However, his moment of glory turns sour when Carol tells him about Matts affair with Jamie. Beverlys relationship with Rob grows deeper, and Sean is forced to decide whether hes willing to forget the past and fight for his wife.

Matts custody battle for his kids gets more difficult after he gets a DUI with them in the car. Sean struggles with the news that Beverly spent a night with ruggedly handsome Rob. Carol, once again, falls under the spell of her charismatic new boss.

Matts career takes an unexpected turn when he appears on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Merc comes in to pitch new shows to Carol. Oh, and theres a devastating earthquake in Peru.

Pucks! is finally pulled from the schedule. Although not officially cancelled, the writing is clearly on the wall for the doomed hockey comedy. Everyone reacts in different ways: Sean is in denial, Beverly is mentally packing her bags, while Matt finds solace in the arms of a 19 year old super-fan.

The filming of Pucks! draws to a close and everyone is focused on what they will do next. Bev gives Carol an ultimatum when she reads the script and wants to turn it into a show. NBC wants Matt to audition for the role in Andrews pilot, but Matt is unwilling to do so. To make matters worse, Matt becomes a target of a rumor that might jeopardize his opportunity at landing the role.

Sean and Beverley return to LA to shoot once-thought-to-be-cancelled Pucks!. Matt gets some very disturbing news about his finances.

Seans former writing partner turns up to wreak havoc. Matt and Carol find romance.

Threes a crowd as Sean and Beverly are forced to consider a writing partnership with Tim, while Carol and Helen discover they have a bedfellow in common. Meanwhile, Matt receives a lucrative yet dubious invitation.

Carol attempts to slow down the pace of her new relationship with Helen. Meanwhile, despite Beverlys objections, Sean gets Matt to read the script of their new show. Things take an unexpected turn when excited Matt wants to play one of the roles in it, and Sean and Beverly arent exactly thrilled about it.

Carol and Helen are still trying to figure out their indefinable relationship, when all of a sudden Castor Sotto comes back into the picture. Meanwhile, Matt starts shooting his new game show with Merc Lapidus.

Matts tryst with Danika goes viral - and no amount of damage control can contain it. Matt tries to take matters into his own hands by calling Elliot Salad, the head of the network, to plead his case but ends up getting more than he bargained for. Meanwhile, life goes on for the rest of the world. Sean and Beverly endure a disastrous casting session with Tim. And Carol gets stoned with her maid.

Back on the hiking trail for the first time in months, Carol confesses to Beverly her newfound happiness with Merc. Appalled, Beverly nevertheless agrees to support her - until she discovers that Merc has recently become engaged. To Morning Randolph! Matt takes Sean and Beverly to his ranch for a working weekend to try and come up with a new series. Gunplay ensues. And a wild boar.

Sean and Beverly find themselves in an ugly dispute with Matt when he demands a writing credit on their new show. Neither side is willing to give in. After all, they came up with the premise - but he bought the pads and pens! Carol decides to leave television, move home to Michigan and raise the child on her own. However, before doing that, she sues Helen and the network for sexual harassment.
