Last Days of the Space Age

The USSR beauty pageant contestant lands in Perth, where her traumatic run-in with protestors presents Mick Bisset with an opportunity. Judys promotion sees her forced to make an impossible decision. Eileens grandson Bilya comes to stay, and falls back into Tillys orbit, while Jonos family grapples with a tragedy.

Mia and Jonos joyride has catastrophic consequences, forcing a wedge between her parents, and threatening the Bui familys fragile rescue plans. Bob crashes on the Bissetts turf, whilst Bilya tries to get ahead. Svetlana, meanwhile, makes Mick a black-tie invitation he cant refuse.

Tragedy strikes, leaving the community reeling, and the Bissett family scrambling to process what theyve been through. Eileen grieves in private, whilst ghosts from Tonys past haunt him. Svetlanas secret grows, while Mia, Judy, and Tony unearth secrets of their own.

As Judy confronts her tormentor, Tony confronts the past, giving Eileen some truths long since buried. The struggle for the fate of the power plant reaches its climax. And as the graduation ball and beauty pageant arrive, Skylab closes in.
