Meaning of Life

Ellen realizes that she has no idea who she is anymore, and the sudden death of an anonymous colleague sends her into a fright. Alva and Nico are starting an IVF treatment, but Alva doubts if it will succeed.

Ellen starts a hunting course and meets Matteo, while Alex feels that Ellen is slipping further away. Alva and Nico both receive life-changing news. Polly pushes Ellen and Alva into a hurtful conflict.

Alex tries to get Ellen back to her old self. Alva and Nico have booked an ultrasound where they anticipate to hear the babys heartbeat — the actual proof of whether they are going to be parents or not.

After being confronted with Alva and Nicos real problems, Ellen realizes that all the bickering between her and Alex is trivial in comparison. However, the idyllic existence is soon abruptly broken.
