The Suttons, who just moved to Eddies old neighborhood, have trouble adjusting to their new surroundings. While Tay is dealing with bullies at his new school, Eddie gets the cold shoulder from a local thug.

As PCP spreads through Cassies high school, Val, a new undercover cop, Eddie and Lund are assigned to find and take down the dealers, but when Charles sees Cassie flirting with Val he isnt happy about it – and neither is Eddie. Elsewhere, Lizzie is thrown into a predicament: does she break a promise to protect her friend from embarrassment or should she betray another friends secret, and possibly ruin her first slumber party.

Life in the Sutton neighborhood isnt getting easier when one of their neighbors takes an entire bank hostage, and Eddie has to break a promise to Jenn.

Eddie and Lund protect a 13 year old gang member from a rival gang, and Eddie reunites with the foster family who took care of him after his mother died.

Lizzie is kidnapped and held for ransom by two of Donelles friends, making Eddie reconsider his decision for moving his family to the Heights.

When Eddies childhood friend Dana Taylor witness a murder she becomes the killers next target. Dana seeks Eddies help for protection and support which fuels Jens anger.

While they are still discussing if they should leave their home, the Sutton receive an offer for the house. But the news isnt changing the fact that they are liking their new home and the new experiences they had since they moved, despite all the dramatic incidents.Meanwhile, Bishop is still on the loose and Eddie is afraid that Bishop is ready to take his revenge on him and on his family.

Everything seems to be changing in Lincoln Heights (some for the better, some for the worse) and the Sutton household is noexception. Jen finally sickens of pushing paper at the all-but-shuttered neighborhood hospital and leaves to work at a free clinic. That leaves Eddie in charge on the home front, but things are not going down exactly as he thinks. Lizzie is still writing to her kidnapper Boa, only now shes doing it in secret. Cassie and Charles are very close to becoming much mor eintimate friends. And even sweet, naive Tay manages to get picked up in an FBI sting. Through it all rings the voice of Reverend Hammond, calling for peace and an end to gang violence. But when his voice is stilled one question still echoes, who will step up to take his place?

Relationships are broken. Repairs are needed. But that takes honesty and a steady heart. For Jens parents, lies and deceit may end a forty-year marriage. While Cassie and Charles push each other to the breaking point (a place so far there may be no going back). All summer long Charles has been working on a special present for Cassie (a one-of-a-kind, built-with-love automobile just for her). But when he finds her in another mans arms, he doesnt wait for explanations. The two seem headed off a cliff and neither knows how to apply the brakes. Does disaster lie ahead?

Is life full of turning points or breaking points? Suddenly everyone in the Sutton household has to decide. For Eddie, its deciding whether to stay on the streets or become a precint insider by applying for sergeant. For Jenn, its balancing her love of her work with the dangers of the clinic. And for Cassie, its having the guts to pursue her painting despite what the critics might say. But this proves easier said than done. With Charles MIA, Cassie feels like shes in free fall. She can hardly get out of bed. But thats only until her Prince Charming appears at the door, waiting to escort her to her very first gallery show as a real painter. Has Charles come back, or is Luc rushing in to take his place? Which one can Cassie really trust?

Forgiveness seems to be in short supply in Lincoln Heights, and the streets just keep getting meaner. After another gang killing, Jenn tries to organize a support group for mothers whove lost children to violence. But the moms who show up lost kids who were on opposite sides of the gang war, so the first meeting is thick with hostility and pain. Meanwhile, Lizzie is trying to forgive her grandfather for taking off with the money she was raising to help the needy. To make up for what was lost, shes organized a talent show at Revolution. Everyones in and excited, except Cassie, whos giving out nothing but grief -- especially to Lizzie. Maybe if Sage werent making such an obvious play for Charles, Cassie could deal. But shes nothing but mad, so shes going after Sage. Kinda like how Grandpa Spencer is going after Reuben -- only grandpas got a gun.

Gang warfare has taken over the streets. Charles and Sage are its latest victims, and now the gangs are after Tay. Its do or die for Lincoln Heights. But someone has to make a move. Will it be the mothers of the slain who come together to fight for peace? Can Eddie, see past his fury to help take back the streets? When no ones looking, its Cassie who steps up to light the way. Despondent over Charles, needing to do something with her grief, she stakes out her territory -- right in the middle of the gangs. Using art as her weapon, she starts painting her message of hope on a wall in a gang-infested vacant lot. Can Lincoln Heights rise to the challenge? Who will stand with Cassie?

Cassie and Charles take the next step in their relationship, but their romantic night turns out to have anything but private

The day starts in the middle of a night, when Sage wakes up with a nosebleed and Jenn rushes her to the clinic. While shes there, Sage witnesses an old woman die as a result of a nurses error

Cassie and Charless love is threatened, and someone is lost forever.

The past comes back to haunt the Suttons in a very real way when a confused old woman turns up in their kitchen, acting as if she lives there

Mack, Charles violent stepfather, is on the loose and making threats. When an attempt to catch him fails, he vows revenge.

Turmoil surrounds the Suttons as the rivalry between Tay and Nate Ray comes to a head, Lizzie must choose whether popularity is more important than what is right, the police continue closing in on Charles who begins to doubt Cassies support, and Jenn may risk her marriage by voicing her problems with Dana and Eddies friendship.

Lizzie helps a young Mexican boy who has just moved to Lincoln Heights fit in. Charles reaches out to his father, and Cassie goes with Charles to meet his new family against her parents wishes. Tays desire for expensive stuff overcomes his commonsense, and Lincoln Heights new Robin Hood, the Bandanna Bandit, strikes again.

Lizzie makes her peace with Johnnies death, and Sages invitation to go out on the town with Cassie may do more than take her mind off of Charles.

While Jenn awaits her test results, Cassie is invited to New York City for her birthday and Lizzie takes a dramatic turn.

Charles career plans worry Cassie when he talks about joining the military, and Lizzies budding thespian career may be cut short when the school musical is canceled.
