Tonys patient, the child killer Maggie, is on the verge of revealing where she buried her victims, but Tony and the police are distracted by a serial murder case involving the roommate of one of his students.

S2E2 - The Darkness of Light 2004-02-19

The remains of corpses are discovered whilst new foundations are being dug at the Norton Hotel, a building which stands on the site of an abbey, a fact which leads to a suspicion that these were religious killings. Then the hotel is burnt down and,as the first of a series of murders takes place, Carol asks for Tonys involvement. The strange thing is that these murders are identical to those committed some five hundred years earlier.

S2E3 - Right to Silence 2004-02-26

Newly promoted to Detective Chief Inspector, Carol investigates a murder which seems to bear the hallmark of gang boss Gavin Cochran. However Cochran is behind bars for murder and could not have done it. Carol asks Tony to work out any links between the two slayings, leading to the arrest of Cochrans brother George. But there is a fight during which George ends up in a coma. Gavin is released from prison for a compassionate visit, during which another killing takes place, allowing Tony to test his theory and trap the murderer.

S2E4 - Sharp Compassion 2004-03-04

The suspicious death of a hospital patient leads to post mortems being conducted on other patients who supposedly died of natural causes but now appear to have been murdered. Tony suspects the killer may be a person who believes they are releasing the victims from pain by their actions, guided by religious motives. However Islamic terrorists are also suspected, leading to the involvement of MI5. Carol is under scrutiny and needs Tonys help to keep her job.

Tony Hill works with the police to solve the murder of the Johnsons, who were butchered in their flat. Tony has a bigger problem however when a medical exam reveals he has a brain tumor that is growing rapidly and is likely malignant.

When a rapist who was convicted on Tonys evidence is released Tony appears to be discredited. To make matters worse Carol has left for South Africa without even saying goodbye to him. He offers his help to her successor, Alex, another female officer, when a number of young women are found dead, their bodies buried in fields. Tony relates this to a sado-masochistic Internet site used by the murderer to lure his victims to their fate by playing, and then preying, on their sexual fantasies.

When a young prostitute is found dead, clinical psychologist Dr. Tony Hill sees an immediate parallel with the crimes committed by an incarcerated serial killer, Derek Tyler. S6E2 - Unnatural Vices: Part 2 2008-09-19

Another victim disappears and a severed finger is sent to constable Chris Collins in an envelope, suggesting that the killer is into playing cat and mouse games with him. Chris, a new young constable whose attitude Alex dislikes, then disappears and is abducted by the murderer who strips him and strings him up. Tony realizes that the killer is the sort of person that anybody would trust - such as a doctor - as he races to save Chriss life.

S6E3 - Fall the Shadow: Part 1 2008-09-26

Tony attends a conference of psychologists, where he is a guest speaker and where he meets an old friend Rachel White, another delegate. He has drinks with her in her room but leaves before having sex. Next morning she is found dead and he was the last person to see her alive, marking him as a suspect. Then another psychologist is also murdered whilst Alex investigates a serial killer whose targets are prostitutes.

S6E4 - Fall the Shadow: Part 2 2008-10-03

Tony is allowed to assist in the investigations. He sees the murders as ritualistic as Power Not Truth was written in the dead doctors blood. He also begins to see a connection with the murders of the prostitutes and, against Alexs advice, offers himself as bait to trap the killer.

S6E5 - From the Defeated: Part 1 2008-10-10

Two young men are found murdered, the only connection being that skin from one of them is found under the others fingernails. As other bodies are found, Tony deduces that a sadistic gay murderer is abducting white boys and forcing them to kill each other. Meanwhile Michael Bryant, the cannibal killer whom Tony helped to put away, sends him a message from the secure unit where he is incarcerated, telling Tony that he is planning to escape and will see him soon.

S6E6 - From the Defeated: Part 2 2008-10-17

An Asian man is killed but the pattern is different to the serial killings of the white boys which appears to have stopped. However, Ellie, a young widow, is abducted and, in the search to find her, Tony looks for comparisons with the other murders. Bryant, claiming that he has found God, asks for an audience with the secure units chaplain, whom he then kills, making his escape in the chaplains robes.

S6E7 - The Dead Land: Part 1 2008-10-24

Another serial killer is at work. This one kills homeless men by stabbing them through the heart but a bizarre ritual is also at work because the bodies are bathed and wrapped up in paper before they are left around the towns business area. Alex is called away and her place taken by the young Oxbridge graduate Hall,of whom Tony is initially suspicious but he turns out to have a psychology degree and to be a big fan of Tonys work. A more sinister fan,clearly Bryant,is leaving presents on Tonys door-step.
