As she grows close to the spirits in the ghost world, a driven Maddie begins to unravel the events surrounding her death, only to discover someone other than Xavier may have been involved.

When the search for Maddies killer puts Simon in real jeopardy and exposes Maddies connection to the living world, Maddie must navigate Split River Highs spooky spectral underbelly - first alone, and then with the help of her fellow ghosts.

Questioning their existence, the spirits seek Mr. Martin for answers. Maddie must confront the latest suspect which challenges everything she thought she knew before. Xavier, Claire and Nicole look for answers at an abandoned house. When the truth is finally revealed, Maddie must face unexpected and devastating consequences.

Fugitive Janet is haunted by her past as the ghost group continues searching for Mr. Martin inside Split River High. Simon tells the living kids about Janets body-snatching. A fire at a dilapidated farmhouse leaves Maddies fate unclear. We are introduced to two additional ghosts at Split River High.

Janet/Maddie returns home to a shocked and relieved Sandra. The ghosts discover the objects from their deaths unlock hidden spaces. A mandatory school event uncovers tension between the living kids who are more concerned about Janets return.

Maddie and the ghosts find a link between their scars while Simon and team go on a mission where tensions rise with the arrival of an unexpected visitor.

Maddie and the ghosts confront Mr. Martin, ultimately trapping him in the afterlife; new information leads to a chase through the schools scars, delaying Maddies return to the living world and putting her body in jeopardy.
