The Beverly Hillbillies

The pilot starts after the theme song when Jed struck oil in his Lake. A rural Ozark family relocates to Beverly Hills after oil is discovered on their property worth $25 million. After finding oil on the land, the family is surprised when Mr. Brewster of the OK Oil Company offers to buy it. After much coaxing by Cousin Pearl, Jed sells the swamp and moves the family to a mansion in Beverly Hills. Upon their arrival, they are arrested because of a case of mistaken identity but are later returned to the mansion safely.

Jane Hathaway finds that making the Clampetts more sophisticated will be harder than expected, while Pearl Bodine tries to get the attention of Mr. Brewster.

Upon Mr. Drysdales advice to buy good stock, Jed purchases cows, pigs, and chickens to raise. Granny prepares her special mash to help cure Mrs. Drysdale of her drinking problem. Meanwhile, Mrs. Drysdale is convinced shes imagining things, because she sees Granny hovering outside her window and sees a goat and a chicken in her bathroom.

Elly May starts wearing dresses but takes it as an insult when someone says she looks like a city girl. Mr. Drysdale talks Jed into taking in his butler Ravenswood and upstairs girl Marie in a plan to civilize the Clampetts, but they dont quite understand the idea of servants.

Misunderstandings abound as the spoiled college student Sonny Drysdale attempts to woo Elly May, only to flee to his mother in the end. In an attempt to smooth things over Granny and Jed invite the Drysdales for Thanksgiving.

When Sonny Drysdale promises to give Elly May a ring, Granny thinks hes going to propose and becomes a matchmaker. Cousin Pearl cant stand the idea that Elly May will get married before Jethrine, so she sets to matchmaking Jethrine with Jasper Depew.

The Clampetts take their first plane flight back home for Christmas to visit cousin Pearl, who is busy cooking up a feast to win Mr. Brewsters unwilling heart. Mr. Brewster insults Pearl when he asks her to be his housekeeper, while she thought it was going to be a proposal.

Mr. Brewster doesnt want to get married, but the whole county knows that Cousin Pearl had her heart set for him. Jed comes up with a plan for her to save face by having Mr. Brewster propose in public and then have her turn him down. Jed didnt count on Mr. Brewsters background in the theater and him making a huge production out of it. Mr. Brewster does such a convincing job that Pearl, after repeatedly saying no, then says yes.

Granny and Cousin Pearl are at each others throats over whos going to take care of cooking and the house, so Jed has to find ways to keep them apart. Jed tries to calm things down by taking a sightseeing tour of Beverly Hills.

Many animals and even the police respond to the unique sounds from Pearls yodeling lessons.

Granny cant stand Pearls yodeling so she reports her to the police. When one of the officers takes Pearl outside to the squad car, Granny thinks she got Pearl in trouble and becomes sad and contrite. Meanwhile, the police find Grannys still, and new trouble results.

The conman Harry Jones, who pretends to be an old friend, gives Jed a "bargain" when he offers to sell Griffith Park, the Hollywood Bowl, and the freeway to the millionaire.

Mrs. Drysdale wants to get rid of the Clampetts before the arrival of Mrs. Smith-Standish, the head of a first family historical society. But Smith-Standish goes to the Clampetts first and becomes enchanted with their antiques and way of life. She also finds evidence that Jeds ancestors came to America prior to the arrival of the Mayflower. She ropes Mrs. Drysdales into helping with chores done the old way, to Mrs. Drysdales horror.

Miss Hathaways brilliant-but-frumpy bank protegee Gloria (Lola Albright) is really a sultry gold-digger with eyes for Jeds $34 million, and Jeds just had his annual dose of Grannys spring tonic. Pearl and Granny are a little suspicious of her. Gloria claims that she has to marry a mountain man. Seeing through her scheme, Jed says thats a good idea, but shell have to wait 3 or 4 years until Jethro is old enough.

After playing golf with Jethro, Los Angeles Dodgers coach Leo Durocher wants to sign him as a pitcher, when he sees how well he can throw.

Jed arranges a party to get Granny out of her doldrums and invites the Drysdales. Mr. Drysdales boss wants to come along to meet them, hearing how sophisticated they are. The boss is thrilled with what he believes to be a "Hillbilly Party" thrown for him.

Jethro needs a health certificate to graduate from the fifth grade, so he goes to the only doctor the Clampetts know about - Mrs. Drysdales psychiatrist. The psychiatrist may have bitten off more than he can chew when he starts treating Jethro. Dr. Twombly gets nowhere with Jethro, so Pearl comes and she thinks he is testing her virtue when he tries to lay her on his couch.

When Miss Hathaway gets sick and Mr. Drysdale has to speak at a conference, Jed helps out by running the bank and having Elly be his secretary, while Jethro finds a speech that Drysdale accidentally uses instead of his own. All the while a new teller sucks-up to the men and flirts with the women. Jed lends money to a Mr. Wilson, who claims to be a poor chicken rancher. Because of that, Mr. Drysdale is named "Banker of the Year".

Jed pretends to be sick so that Granny can get to doctoring and feel more at home. Mr Drysdale and his physician, Dr. Clyburn get pulled into the ploy and Grannys mountain medicine is put to the test by a city doctor.

Granny has everyone up at the crack of dawn to plow the front yard for her garden, while Mr. Drysdale, Miss Hathaway, and a stubborn mule try to stop her. Miss Jane takes Granny to a large Supermarket to show her how unnecessary it is to grow her own food.

Cynthia Fenwick makes her filthy rich mother dress in the "Clampett Look" when they visit the Clampetts, since she thinks Elly is a fashion maven. That only reinforces the Clampetts belief that the Fenwicks are poor. Cynthia mistakes Jethro for royalty and Mrs. Fenwick mistakes Mrs. Drysdale for a cleaning woman.

Jethro thinks hes in love with Chickadee Laverne. She and the Clampetts still have a different idea about what an "engagement" is. Meanwhile, Miss Jane tries to woo Jethro away from Chickadee. As marriage seemingly draws nearer, Jethro discovers a deal-breaking secret about Chickadee: she cant cook.

Newly discovered "cousin" Jake Clampett soon has everyone but Jed thinking about and dressing for a role in a movie Jake wants to make. Mr. Drysdale hears that Jed is going to finance 10 million for the movie. Miss Jane comes up with a plan to put a stop to it all.

Mrs Drysdale is having a garden party & tells the Clampetts not to attend. They misunderstand & think she wants them to come. When they arrive they are bored so Mrs Drysdale sends them back next door to handle the Overflow crowd. Eventualy the whole party ends up at the Clampetts & they show these Beverley Hills folk how to have a real party.

Granny says they have no friends in Beverly Hills. Mrs. Schuyler-Potts expels Jethro from her school for being disruptive. Mrs. Drysdale wants to lock up all of Ellys critters. The Clampetts want to go back to the hills. Mr. Drysdales efforts to prove to the Clampetts that Beverly Hills is really the place for them to be only makes matters worse.

Grannys television idol, Western actor Quirt Manly, is revealed to be less than expected when he visits the mansion. Even though Granny is disappointed, Elly gets along with Quirt. Jed tries to help Quirt become more of a mans man.

Some old love letters from Jethro lead mountain man Lafe Crick and his daughter Essiebelle to Beverly Hills. Jethro is looking forward to marrying Essiebelle until he sees how much weight shes gained. Essiebelle is not concerned as she loves a boy back in the hills. When Jed finds this out, he makes sure the wedding wont happen.

Mr. Drysdale would like Elly to run for Queen of Beverly Hills. The Clampetts think the race for the Queen is an actual foot race. So, Granny wants to run as well.

While Ellie continues to see Fred Penrod, Lafe Crick tries some match making with his son Dub and Ellie.

Ellie has Dr. Martin of the zoo come over to treat her dog Duke who is sick. But Granny mistakes a bug repellent salesman Jim Gardner, who ends up falling for Ellie, for the veterinarian. Granny thinks he is no "Critter Doctor" but actually a "Bug Doctor" who is there to sell "bug vittles". Granny is taken with Dr. Martin, after finally meeting him.

Granny gets tired of the weather girl on TV saying that the weather is going to be clear when it is actually going to rain. She has a way to correct this, namely her weather beetle, Cecil. She confronts the head meteorologist of the U.S Weather Bureau but without luck. Jed goes down to speak to him and mentions the name "Daisy," making him think he means Hurricane Daisy, and tells of the plan to get rid of her.

Jed gets invited to the opening of Drysdale’s new Commerce Bank building. Granny thinks that he will actually be building the bank. Jed attends the party and meets two of Drysdale friends, who think he is a market wizard. When Jed is told he is helping to build the bank, he heads home to get tools and pick up Elly and Granny to help out. When they get there, they cause a bit of a disturbance and misunderstand what is going on.

Mr. Drysdale buys the Clampetts a dress store using their money, and the clan decides to check it out. When they arrive at The House of Renee, they are mistaken for poor and Renee tries to help them. She thinks they need jobs. However, the Clampetts think Renee and her models are poor and starving. Renee gives the Clampetts money for food, and they think it is for them to buy food for Renee.

Having been given a stylish makeover by a famous French couturier, Elly May is mistaken for a visiting foreign princess by Mrs. Drysdale. Hoping to get in good with "royalty," Mrs. Drysdale throws a fancy party for Elly. This time around, the old dear is certain that her soiree wont be invaded by "those dreadful hillbillies."

After Granny takes a cab home and gets charged for the ride, she decides that it is time for her to learn how to drive. The taxi driver who took Granny home is having trouble collecting the fair, and after a series of events begins to believe that he is in a mental hospital. Granny, during her driving lesson, mistakenly gets on the road.

Drysdale tries to save the cabin for the Clampetts, but his wife calls a professional home wrecker to tear down the mountain shack. Meanwhile, Ginny Jennings and her sociology professor come back to visit the Clampetts and see that they are still occupying the cabin.

Drysdale buys a movie studio, Mammoth Pictures, for Jed, and the Clampetts decide to go check out their new property. At first they can’t get in, but they finally succeed. They meet Lawrence Chaplin, the head of Mammoth Pictures, who refers to Jed as a Zucker and a Roach, and Jed admires him for saying it to his face.

The Clampetts move into the Western street on their movie studio, but Drysdale tries to stop them. He gets the Clampetts a role in a new picture about Cleopatra and Nero, with Jethro as Caesar, Elly as a martyr who gets thrown to the lions and Granny as Cleopatra. However, Elly makes friends with the lion and Granny gets Nero drunk on elderberry wine.

Jed gets an honorary doctorate when he donates money to a college, and the family thinks he is now a legit doctor. However, Granny isn’t pleased with hearing that Jed is now a real college doctor because she didn’t go to college. Granny does her best to get a degree herself, but doesn’t find much success.

Jethro wants to serve his country as a 007 spy. When he is dissuaded from this, he has to decide what branch of the military to join. Granny gets him to join the Marines because she still wants to catch the whale she saw a year ago.

Granny flies widow Emma Poke out to Beverly Hills to match-make with Jed. She figures she can trick Jed into marriage, though Jed finds out what is going on. However, Jed doesn’t want to marry her, and it turns out that Emma doesn’t want to marry him.

Granny decides to start her own boarding house. The Clampetts put out signs welcoming any incoming boarders and advertising what they offer. When the Drysdales new butler, Arthur Pinckney, arrives in town he thinks the signs are meant as a welcome for him so he goes to the Clampetts mansion.

When the Clampetts learn that Mrs. Drysdale is in the hospital, they decide to visit her to make sure she is doing well. Little do they know, she is there to spite her husband, and won’t leave until the Clampetts have moved away from Beverly Hills. At the hospital, the Clampetts try to make her room more cheerful while she is sleeping, even moving the bed so it faces the window.

Jethro falls for a movie starlet, Kitty Devine, who is not interested in him. But when she discovers that his uncle owns the studio and could get her better roles than beach babes in surfer movies, she takes interest. While at the mansion, Kitty does her best to get Jed to notice her and tries to convince him she is capable of roles that could make her a star.

Elly is disappointed about losing Dash to Miss Jane, so Jed and Drysdale try to fix everything. And Granny is trying to figure out why Dash is going for the plain Miss Jane instead of her gorgeous granddaughter. Another actor, Biff Steel, is set up for Elly, but, once again, he sees Miss Jane and figures she is Miss Clampett.

Drysdale sets Granny up with an older man on the Board of Directors, a playboy who dates young, attractive women. Mr. Cavanaugh meets Granny and is not pleased with what he sees. And Cavanaugh’s original date for the night, who is described as his "dear, sweet old aunt" is set up with Jed. Of course, this “Aunt Phyllis” is no older woman; shes a young, glamorous girl.

Inspired by the movie Goldfinger,Jethro wants to be a spy.He tries to spy on Drysdales rival banker John Cushing and his new secretary.In the meantime,Mr.Drysdale hires Elly May as a secretary-long enough for her to win the Queen of the Bankers Ball beauty contest.Jethro rigged up the truck as a,""spy-car,""and even got a hat made of solid iron.He tried to carry a secret-radio in his shoe-but it kept playing when he stepped on it.He also had an ejector-seat,which Granny made the mistake of getting on.She ended up in the trees.

Granny demands to see her money in cash, and Drysdale tries to talk her out of it. He fails and upsets the Clampetts by accidentally throwing magazines at them, which were really aimed at his wife and her dog. He tries to make things better by showing Granny what a million dollars looks like to turn her off from the idea, but ends up throwing more stuff at her.

Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs visit the Clampetts and solve the problems they are having at the mansion. They cure Jethro’s hunger by making him biscuits and red-eye gravy, and the duo cures Granny’s homesickness by letting her perform on stage with them.

Beatnik Sheldon Epps returns with his other beatnik pals from the Parthanon West Coffee House.Jethro is taught how to be a beatnik-and Elly may joins up with them too.Mr.Drysdale sees that the Clampetts are friends of the beatniks!

Drysdale tries to get the Clampetts interested in a hobby to occupy their time and to stop Jed from traveling around the neighborhood with a fix-it wagon. He shows Jed all types of hobbies, like collecting stamps and building a boat in a bottle. Jethro gets a hobby with these offers—getting the boat out of the bottle!

Luke Shorts son Beau comes from back home.Granny wants him to marry Elly May,but Elly wants none of it.At first Miss Hathaway dresses her as a Hollywood siren to scare him-but he quits being scared after Elly gives him a strong kiss.Then she dresses like a dirty scrubwoman to discourage him-but Beau is glad that she can look like she does chores,too.Then Miss Hathaway convinces Beau that he should be a man of the world-and Jethro tries to show Beau how to be a playboy.it turns out that the reason Beau had come to California was to enlist in the army.

Granny is tired of Beverly Hills and heads home for the Hills. But she never makes it back home and ends up in Las Vegas. And Jethro is having no luck being an international playboy and ends up getting arrested. Granny comes back that night, but with a story to tell about Vegas the next day.

Mr Drysdale wants Jed to buy a yacht & join the Yacht club. Jethro sees Mr Drysdales captains hat & goes out to find a something similar for Jed. He returns with an Admirals uniform.! The clampetts agree to meet Mr Drysdale & Miss Jane at the Dock but get lost & end up at a navy base. They see a Navy vessel & think its a yacht. When Jed walks up the Gangway in his admirals uniform the sailors think its a surprise inspection. After a test drive Jed decides to pass on buying the boat. Note: This is the first episode filmed and aired in color.

After entering an oil deal with Jed and O.K. Oil, the Sheik befriends the Clampetts, giving Jed four of his dancing girls for wives and tries to get the beautiful Elly May as one of his wives. Jed tries to give the girls back, while Jethro tries to enjoy some of the Sheiks life, mainly the company of his beautiful dancing girls, after selling his cousin.

Granny thinks Mrs.Drysdale is running against her for Possum Queen.Granny and the family put on a rip-snotin campaign to elect Granny Possum Queen.Mr.Drysdale,in the meantime,is trying to get any city he can to hold a Possum Day parade.

Drysdales maid is spending too much time with Jethro.

The Clampetts think the house keeper from next door is their new neighbour.

Jethro has girl trouble—he cant get one! Jed and Granny decide throw a wing-ding where he and Elly Mae can meet nice young folks. The banks Ms. Hathaway and Mr. Drysdale help in arranging the musical talent. They mention the Beatles, Byrds, Hermans Hermits, Freddie and the Dreamers and the Animals! Theres a very funny extended discussion about the Beatles where Mr. Drysdale schemes a way to get them as depositors for his bank! Jethro and Ms. Hathaway go the Whisky-A-Go-Go and find the Enemys (featuring a very young Cory Wells—later of The Dog Night.) wailing on ""Mojo Woman"" and ""Oh Pretty Woman,"" and ""Turkey In The Straw."" The Enemys sound like the Yardbirds! Lengthy extended scenes featuring the Enemys and wild teens dancing the jerk, frug and boogaloo! Jethro ends up wearing a Beatle wig! Theres also a groovy ""beat music"" square dance! Must see rock n roll TV!

Mrs. Drysdales father, an aristocratic Bostonian, is coming to visit, and shes afraid that one glimpse of the unrefined Clampetts will send him back to Boston.

Granny has a cure for the common cold & opens up an office in Mr Drysdales Building.

Granny asks Jethro to give her driving lessons. After the first lesson he quits & Mr Drysdale talks Jed into buying a trotter. The Clampetts just want the horse to take Granny to town when she wants to go,instead of waiting for Jethro to drive her. When a man arrives with the horse, he has the racing buggy with him. The Clampetts think its a normal buggy without any sides or roof.

Elly-May is worried because she heard there was a Cat-Burglar on the loose. So she gathered up all her cats & took them inside the house. Later the Cat Burglar posing as a detective arrives at the Clampetts place pretending to secure it against burglars,but is really ""casing the joint."" Elly May sets some traps & catches the cat burglars assistant & Jethro catches Miss Jane. (Much to her delight !)

Perpetual student Sonny Drysdale returns home.

Jethro decides to be a magician after seeing Marvo the Magnificent.Marvo puts on a magic show for the Clampetts-and later sells Jethro his entire warehouse of equipment(which had been just sitting there for years).Jethro tries to put on a similar magic show-and he doesnt succeed.

Musicians Flatt and Scruggs pay a visit.

Julie Newmar as an actress studying backwoods behavior for a movie role.

Mr Drysdale wants Dash to ask Elly for another date. Miss Jane meets her hero, Prof. Biddle (of the Biddle birdwatchers)& they go out on a field trip looking for birds to watch.

Prof.Biddle drinks some of Grannys tonic thinking its water & his personality changes.

Granny returns from visiting Pearl & brings Pearls old telephone with her. She wants Jethro to install a party line so she can listen to other folks conversations. However things dont go as Granny planned.

Jethro is trying to impress a girl & asks Dash Riprock for Love lessons. He asks Susie for a date but shes not interested until she learns that its a double date & Dash Riprock is the other fella. Dash,Elly, Susie and Jethro go to a Drive In movie (Swamp Monster & Brutorus ""double feature"") Later Jethro & Susie go back to Dashs ""pad"" but things dont go Jethros way & then Miss Jane arrives to make matters worse.

Jethro thinks Duke is calling His name, when its really Emmaline hiding in the bushes. She wants Jethro to sneak her into the house so she can borrow one of Ellys dresses & change her appearance. She then goes to the Bank to see Mr Drysdale & tries the same incriminating photo ""con job"" on Him. Meanwhile a Detective has caught up to Col.Foxhall & takes him to the Clampetts to get their statement. Jed saves Mr Drysdale when He learns of the scheme & Granny gives Emmaline a ""paddled behind.""

Mr Kelly (Herby) wants his money from Mr Drysdale. Mr Drysdale wants Herby to go back to the Clampetts to replace the real Gorilla. The Clampetts still think Herbys real & offer to buy him from Mr Kelly. Mr Drysdale arrives & has to wear the suit so Jed can meet Mr Kelly & offer him the money. When Mr Kelly gets the money he runs & Mr Drysdale chases after him.

Granny wins five free dance lessons from Marvin & Marita dance school & cant wait to start. The dance instructors arrive at the Clampetts & Granny starts dancing with Marvin. Later Granny wants the young uns to learn to dance & Jed learns Marvin & Marita have no students so He tries to find some for them.

Mr Drysdales competitor John Cushing woos Granny so shell put her money in his bank. When Mr Drysdale hears of this he asks his father in law Mr Farquar to woo Granny to keep the money in his bank. Meanwhile Granny is running between the two when they come to call & is exhausted before to long.

Jethro wants to mail himself to Paris to meet girls. Miss Jane arrives with Biddle Bird Watchers. Jethro likes Athena & wants to join, Miss Jane says only girls can join. Mr Drysdale suggests Jethro join the Junior Woodchucks & the two groups can have a combined outing. While trying to earn a merit badge Jethros ants escape from the ant farm & everyone jumps into the cement pond to avoid them.!

Its Christmas & Granny has no Christmas spirit. Jed, Jethro & Elly remember the good ol days back home & decide to help the people of Beverly Hills. Jethro gets a job as Santa in a dept.store, Elly is his elf. Jed is working at the sporting goods counter & Granny is working in womens lingerie. Earlier Mr Drysdale asked Jethro to take some old clothes away & he thought the Drysdales were short on cash so they had to sell some of their clothes. When Mrs Drysdale visited the Dept.store Granny slipped some nightgowns into her bag without her knowledge & as Mrs Drysdale left the store,the store detective arrested her. When Mrs Drydsale returned from the police station the Clampetts had bought back her bag of old clothes as a Christmas present.

The Mayor of Bugtussle arrives & the Clampetts roll out the red carpet to welcome him. The Mayor tells Mr Drysdale he needs money for the city funds & wanted to ask Jed but couldnt. Mr Drysdale asks how much he needs & the Mayor says $100,000 should cover it. Mr Drysdale refuses & The Mayor goes back to Jed. He wanted to ask Jed but Jethro interupted & Jed tells Granny He thinks the Mayor wants to ask her to marry. Later Mr Drysdale arrives with the cheque & the Mayor leaves in a hurry.

The Clampetts give all their money to N.E.E.D.Y. & move out of the mansion. On their way out of Los Angeles they run out of gas near a national park & with no money decide to stay in the park & maybe chop down a few trees & raise a few crops. When Jed goes looking for the owner of the land he meets the ranger who tells them to leave, so they walk back to the Mansion & the girls from N.E.E.D.Y. give back the money.

Granny tries to match-make Jed after he told her not to. She sends his vital statistics to Jethros computer dating service & waits for the results. Miss Peabody was selected as Jeds match, but when she arrived Granny thought she was Jethros match & thought she was a bit old for the boy. Miss Jane tried her hand with the computer matching service & when her details were fed into the machine, It blew a fuse & blacked out all of Beverly Hills.!!

Jethro wants to be a bullfighter & asks Jed to buy him a bull. When it arrives,its the wrong kind of bull & Elly quickly adopts it as a pet. The movie studio is making a movie about bullfighting starring the famous Matador ""El Magnifico"" Elly gets a date with ""El Magnifico"".

Mrs Drysdale invites a King to come & stay at her place. She doesnt know Hes broke & when Mr Drysdale introduces him to the Clampetts He wants to marry Elly for Her money. When Elly says no, He runs off after Mrs Drysdales Neice.

Granny mixes up a batch of her spring tonic & takes it to the bank. Jed swaps it for root beer. Dr Clyburn wants to charge Granny with dispensing without a licence. Mr Drysdale begs him not to & asks him to invite Granny to his surgery to see how modern medicine is performed. Against his better Judgement he agrees & invites Granny to his office. Granny thinks its a date & Dr. Clyburn is interested in her. Its his day off but hes showing her all the modern devices, Granny wonders why he has no patients. Later Granny goes on TV advertising his services to get him some patients.

Mr Drysdales nephew Milby is just like his Uncle,he arrives for a visit & is quite a handfull. When he learns that the Clampetts are millionaires he wants them to baby sit him. Milby buys all the Clampetts art work & vases for $200 off Jethro. Jethro thinks hes made a profit off Milby. When Mr Drysdale arrives & sees Milby with all the Clampetts things on the driveway he punishes him by taking his money-belt.

Jed gets a letter in the mail saying he has inherited a castle in England. Jethro reads up on England & Queen Elizabeth the first. He thinks that England hasnt changed in 400 years & Knights still fight dragons. The Clampetts go down to the passport office to apply for their passports & the Clerk thinks hes on Candid Camera & theyre actors trying to fool him.

The Clampetts arrive at their Castle & meet John Faversham who introduces himself as major domo (major domocile) Faversham. The Clampetts think his name is Major Domo & when he tries to correct them saying Faversham, they think that faversham is an English greeting for howdy.! Jethro is keen to go hunt dragons & Granny wants to doctor Jeds cousin. Faversham tells her hes no longer with us,he was taken by major peritonitis. Granny doesnt trust army doctors.! Jeds cousins old english sheep dog is on the bed with the curtains drawn. Granny thinks hes shy, She doctors him through the closed curtains thinking the dog is Jeds cousin. Later Granny sees the dog on the bed eating a bone & thinks the dog et Jeds cousin.!! Jed & Granny bury the bones in the backyard.

Miss Jane,Mr Drysdale,Jed & Granny go to Griffith Park looking for Jethro & Elly. Buddy the Hippie arrives back at the park with all his friends & they start partying. Buddy wants to smoke a crawdad, Jethro tells him to go down to the lake & find some. Two cops arrive while the Gang are down at the lake, When the Police ask Granny what shes doing, she tells them ""Im smoking crawdads,but first I need a little pot."" When Buddy finds a crawdad it nips him on the finger. He & the other Cats split & the police go after them rather than the Clampetts.

Jethro wants to be Inducted into the Army. Granny gives him a physical. Jethro arrives limping & hard of hearing. Col Stark is very impressed. The Psychiatrist tells the Colonel He thinks Jethro is the best draft dodger hes ever seen.! Jethro tells them about Grannys physical & the Colonel wants to meet the Clampetts. When they arrive the Shrink thinks their behaviour is all an act & convinces the Colonel not to induct Jethro.

Jed wants to find some land for Granny to raise some crops. Jethro tells him about some plots for sale at Happy Valley. Jed phones Happy Valley & a representative arrives thinking Jed wants to buy a cemetary plot. After Jed tells him he wants to buy a plot for Granny the rep. thinks Jed has killed Granny & has her in the backyard.

Granny is mixing up a batch of her moonshine & Jethro is trying out his frogman outfit in the cement pond. When Granny walks by the pond she thinks Jethro is a sea monster. Later Jethro sets of a charge in the pond & blows himself out of the water. Mr Drysdale gives Jethro some Money Man comics & Jethro wants to meet the Moon maidens. Jed tells Mr Drysdale about the problem with Jethro & He suggests the Army Reserve. Jethro decides he wants to meet the moon maidens & fixes a rocket to his back & using grannys moonshine for fuel launches himself into the air. He lands in the ocean & is rescued by the coast guard.

Granny is preparing for the battle of the Culpepper plantation. General Grant arrives with a hangover. Mr Drysdale dresses as a southern General & Miss Jane is his private. When the Clampetts arrive the battle has started already. as General Grant comes riding down the hill on his horse, Granny takes aim & shoots him off its back. He gets up & she shoots him off again.! He manages to make it to the porch & Granny cant forget her doctorin so she gives him first aid from her jug. (The Clampetts are still unaware that this is a civil war movie and not the real General Grant.)

Dash Riprocks new TV show ""Batchelor Sherriff Knows Best"" needs a new co-star. Jethro hopes hell get the part. Mr Chapman the studio manager & Von Schlepper the director want Ellys chimp Cousin Bessie to play the part. So Jethro becomes her agent.

Dash wants to marry Elly, Elly doesnt want to marry Dash. Granny and Elly want Dash to turn his attention to Miss Jane. Granny invites Dash for dinner & Elly dresses real ordinary.They hope Miss Jane will be dressed nicer than Elly so Dash will ignore Elly, But Miss Jane arrives dressed even plainer. Elly borrows a wig & looks unatractive & Dash is ""turned off"". So Dash & Miss Jane go to a premiere together.

Jed wants Jethro to open up a business. Jethro decides he wants to be a fry cook & open up a restaurant. Jed tells Mr Drysdale about Jethros plan to be a fry cook and Mr Drysdale finds a run down old diner that he rents for $35 a week. Jethro fixes up the place & names it the Happy Gizzard. When Jethros first customer comes in (a young woman)She leaves after Jethro couldnt cook her a hamburger. Granny arrives to save the day & agrees to cook for Jethro.

Granny is homesick for snow, she wants to go home to Bugtussle. Mr Drysdale doesnt want them to leave, He turns up the air-conditioning in the mansion & borrows a snow machine from the movie studio to make it snow (plastic snow)at the Clampetts place. He pretends theres a raging snowstorm & tells the Clampetts not to go outside, Miss Jane & He will bring them food. After making there way through the Blizzard Elly goes out the back door & finds a stuffed wolf she thinks is plum froze. Jethro wants to have some snow ice cream & goes outside with a bowl & spoon. Jed realises whats going on when he goes outside & its warm. Mr Drysdale confesses and when Granny offers him some snow ice cream they leave in a hurry.

Rebecca & her Manager come to the Clampetts place. The Manager wants a rematch between Granny & the Boston strong girl. Granny says no. Jed offers to pay Rebeccas parents mortgage & writes them a cheque. Rebecca & Manager want to cash cheque but instead bring Rebeccas parents to meet the Clampetts. Rebeccas Manager convinces Granny to fight with the Boston strong girls parents in a tag team match & Granny beats them all single handed.

Miss Jane & Jethro attend a violin recital.(Jethro sleeps through most of it) Miss Jane suggests Jethro takes violin lessons. Maestro Stromboli arrives to teach Jethro to play,but Jed & Granny think its he who should take lessons. Jethro buys a fiddle from a pawn shop & asks Stromboli how much he paid for his. Stromboli tells him the high priced amount & Jethro tells him he thinks he got taken. Strombolis annoyed with Jethro "" This is a Stradavarious...Ignoramus."" Jed invites Fiddlin Sam Dingle to teach Stromboli how to play turkey in the straw & they have a Ho Down.

Granny threatens to leave unless Elly gets rid of her menagerie.

Mr Drysdale wants to make a commercial starring the Clampetts as lazy hillbillies wasting their lives at the beginning, to successful contributors to society at the end. He dresses as SuperBanker & they recite to the camera how worthless their existence was before SuperBanker changed things for them.

Mr Drysdale congratulates the Clampetts for reaching the sum of $80,000,000 in his bank. Jethro tells Jed he heard on the radio that the Queen Elizabeth was sold to Philadelphia. Jed rings Faversham in London & he confirms this. Says they sold both Queens to the U.S. (However he meant the Ocean Liners,Queen Mary & Queen Elizabeth.Not the people.) Jed thinks that the Queen must be having money trouble & wants to help. He wants to withdraw his money & give it to the Queen. Hes sure Mr Drysdale wont mind,it must be a worry for him looking after all that money. When Mr Drysdale hears about this he hires an actor to play the Queens Minister of Finance to accept the money & give it back to Mr Drysdale. But things dont go the way Mr Drysdale planned, When the actor found out Jed was rich,he sold him Canada & gave him the deed to take to the Queen herself.

Jethro challengers next door to the war of the roses, Colonel Dumbarton accepts & they commence to joust. Jed wants to go to see the Queen & give her the deed to Canada. Mr Drysdale convinces him to stay & says hell bring the Queen to Him. Mr Drysdale dresses Miss Jane as Queen Elizabeth the 1st & accepts the deed. Jethro is Knighted as well.

Mr Drysdale wants to go home,but the Clampetts arent ready to go yet. Faversham tells him about the Ghost of Clampett castle. Mr Drysdale thinks this will scare the Clampetts & theyll want to go home. Mr Drysdale tells them the story & Jethro wants to hold a seance to contact the ghost. Mr Drysdale dresses as a ghost & almost has them packing their bags until Granny shoots the ghostwith her shotgun & he goes howling down the hall. On the trip home Mr Drysdale has to stand all the way cause he cant sit down.!

While Grannys still in Hooterville, Jethro hires an Italian chef to do their cooking. Grannys @ Druckers telling him about how she used her tonic on Steve & Betty Jos baby after discovering that Boy (the Petticoat Junction dog) was in the baby crib, wearing a baby bonnet as well. Thinking that her tonic turned the dog into their baby. Granny sees the baby for the first time & thought it worked wonders! Sam Drucker arrives @ the Shady Rest with a telegram for Granny. The message was from Jethro saying the familys starving & misses her. So after riding on a horse, driving a motorcycle, getting on an airplane, parachuting down to Beverly Hills, she finds the Italian cook feeding the Clampetts. Granny chases after Jethro over that phony telegram!
