Anna attends an interview at a well-to-do firm of solicitors to find herself confronted by old flame Miles. While Miles considers her application, his colleague Milly and her partner Egg wonder how to fill the house they have rented, and the fifth member of the group, Warren, is also interviewed for a job.

Egg takes on a medical negligence case and becomes emotionally involved with a client who has cancer. Meanwhile, Warren discovers the truth about Delilah, and Miles chooses a bad person in whom to confide about his love life.

Egg takes his work worries to a therapist, but finds that football is the only way forward. Meanwhile, Miles thinks that his days are numbered when Delilah agrees to take an HIV test, and Anna gets an interesting offer when she uses her feminine charms to get work.

Anna has a passionate one-night stand, but discovers that theres no such thing as casual sex. Miles resents his fathers interference at work, and Warren finds it easier to confide in a stranger than in his own brother.

Warren falls in love, but when his romance turns sour he makes the decision not to live a lie. Meanwhile, Milly and ODonnell are becoming increasingly close at work, and Jerry finds an unexpected ally in Anna.

Milly is feeling let down and confused, Egg is sure that he has been two-timed, Anna has to decide between youth and experience, and Warren discovers that alcohol doesnt help ones powers of persuasion.

Anna throws herself into her work, only to find herself up against Miles on a case, while Milly loses her cool. Kiras career suffers a setback. A dinner party is interrupted by Warrens ex-lover Ferdy.

Warren begins losing patience with Ferdy, and his efforts to relieve his stress get him into trouble. Miles finds there is no such thing as uncomplicated sex after he resorts to the lonely hearts pages. Egg starts a new job, while Milly finds it difficult being the boss.

Warren faces the indignity of having to be part of an identity parade and appear in court. When Millys boss forbids her from representing him, Anna steps in. Egg is left in the lurch with Nicki after a misunderstanding at the cafe. Kira plays hard to get after a night out with Jo. Ferdys attempts to win round Miles backfire.

Miles takes matters into his own hands when the search for a new flatmate begins. Anna considers desperate measures to get work. Kiras strategy with Jo is starting to pay off.

Milly agonises over whether or not to accompany ODonnell on a business trip to Paris. Miles and Egg get an unexpected visit from the police. Jo has to beat a hasty retreat from Kelly.

Milly is suspicious of Rachel and ODonnells new rapport since the trip to Paris. A visitor to the house arouses Ferdys interest. Annas celebration with Sarah does not quite go as planned. Miles still resists his fathers invitation.

Will Miles make a hasty decision about his new girlfriend? Milly and Rachels relationship comes to a head. And a lost condom sends Jo into a panic.

Eggs younger brother comes to stay and finds a friend in Anna. Millys reckless behaviour nearly gives the game away. Anna settles on alternative plans for her mothers funeral. And Kira tells Jo where to go.

Eggs expectations for the opening night at the cafe prove to be slightly overambitious. Ferdy opts for a one-night stand. Kira and Kelly make plans for the future.

Milly discovers the truth about ODonnells personal life. Miles becomes increasingly attracted to Anna on his stag night. Nicki puts her foot down at the cafe.
