Sharon Spitz, a 13-year-old 8th grader gets braces the day before picture day. When getting braces at the ortadontist, there is a thunder storm and the power gos out. Something happens with Sharons braces and now its making her do all sorts of weird things!

Sharon reads Marias diary after her braces open its lock, and she assumes that a list of negative character traits found in it apply to her.

Alden, whos working in a meat packing plant to raise money for his band, encourages Sharon to apply for a job in the office. She reluctantly accepts the job, but winds up becoming a vegetarian and quitting when her braces begin picking up sounds from the slaughter house next door. She tries to encourage Alden to quit also, and becomes somewhat disillusioned with him when he wont. But her resentment doesnt last long when its announced that theres a fundraiser barbeque for Aldens band. Sharon wants to go, but is reminded by her nemesis, Nina, that it would be against her principles, since theyre serving meat. Sharon decides to go to the barbeque to offer a meat-free alternative, but winds up in an altercation with Nina which results in Aldens guitar getting smashed. Sharon feels awful, but all is well when she discovers Alden carries no resentment over the loss of his guitar. It turns out that hes gotten a raise, so he can afford to buy a new guitar.

Sharons message that shes attracted to Alden accidentally gets misdirected to Bucks cell phone, which leads Buck to believe that Sharon likes him.

Sharon tries to reunite her divorced parents after she has conflicting feelings about her moms new boyfriend.

Sharon is brace-free for 24 hours and tries to find a way to kiss Alden.

Sharons Dad calls up to the family, asks them to visit him for a while. Josh cant come because he has the flu, so Sharon brings Maria along with her brother, Adam. When Sharon finds out that shes not Dads Favorite, Sharon starts Drinking just to fit in to be one of the Guys!

As Nina steps down as the leader of the students, Sharon enters the election for the new free position. At the same time Brock also enrolls on the race, which enrages Sharon. Then Sharon starts receiving threats to pull out.

Sharon must work at the Teen Help Line for a community service project in her health class. But to find out Alden has a secret and doesnt want Sharon finding out, Sharon thinks hes hiding something from her thats about Sharon!

Sharon decides to get a tattoo, to only prove to her mom and everyone else that shes rebellious.

Alden, Brock, and Carmen have auditions for their band. Sharon and Maria audition and they get the part. Brock gets a phone call and tells them theyre up for an audition in a neighboring city but its at 11:00 A.M on a school day. The 5 teens pretend to be sick so they can go. They make the audition but afterwards, they get on the wrong bus. They get off in the middle of nowhere until they find a golfcourse with a golf cart lying around so they steal it and make it to a highway just as a heavy thunderstorm blows into the area. Nina and her mom show up and give them a ride back to Elkford. However, Brock is caught by his Dad and winds up out of the band. Meanwhile, Nina and Allison try to prove that Sharons skipping but it backfires.

Its Christmas in Elkford! Sharon prepares to draw Aldens name from a gift exchange in homeroom, but her party is pooped when Ninas name is on Sharons card. Sharon, at first, wants to get her something cheap, but she decides to get her a plastic angel. Sharon procrastinates, and at the exchange, Sharon has five dollars in pennies for Nina! Just as Sharon is giving Nina the bag, Nina says she does not want anything that year. Sharon could not wait to get home and put the tofurkey in the oven,(Sharon is a vegan) decorate the tree, and sing carols. However, her plan backfires when Ellen has work, Josh celebrates Channukah, and Adam has to camp out in the freezing weather in the driveway with tthe familys pioneer-like uncle. Sharon gets so angry, she storms off telling her mother she is going somewhere a ""real Christmas"" is happening. On her quest to find her ""real Christmas,"" Sharon stops at Connors, but she leaves because relatives constantly argue. She then goes to Marias where

Sharon gos to high school! Sharon gets a mentour, Dion. Hes very original and unique. Hes just designed a whole new dress, ""The Social Fabric"" -for Sharon to model! But when Sharon gets picked on from Eve. Sharon starts to feel like she needs to fit in more. Eve asks Sharon to do a wicked thing for her.

Sharon gets a job at LifeCycles (the smoothie place) to pay for a ski trip. When Sharons Manager tells Sharon hes going somewheres the same day as the Ski Trip, and Sharon has to work that day, Sharon plays Hookie!

Sharon and Maria start being ""Bad-Girls"" to moutain their image better. But when Sharon gets way over her head, its not too late to call a cab!

Sharon is getting ready for the fashion show, where she is Dions model. Shes also troubled by Ninas comments and starts dieting. When Harrison has a crush on Sharon, she is forced to lie since shes not attracted to him.

Sharon becomes a Finalist in the TV3 Contest to be ""The Coolest."" When Conner and Maria make fake statements on Sharon, Sharon gets Troubled and explains the truth to TV3, Maybe Sharons not the Coolest and doesnt have a perfect family, but shes cool with that!

Sharons grampy, makes rude statements on Maria and Maria gets offended and thinks Sharon inherited the same thing her grandfather has. Maria is also getting a little upset because her new Boyfriend ""Cloud"" tells her what to do and how to be. Either Sharon is Not sensitive or is overly Sensitive!

When Sharons English teacher pairs Sharon with her ex-boyfriend, Alden, Sharon thinks that she and Alden should still be together.

Sharon gets picked by Dion to be the new Miss Understanding! Sharon gives advice in the school advice columnist but everyone believes its Nina giving the advice. Meanwhile, Brock and Alden get into a lot of arguements. Josh is really the one giving the advice.

Sharons and Adams argument about their future occupations leads Sharon to play a joke on her brother that results in him apprenticing at a funeral home. Hes not very good at it, but Sharon--who should be a natural at her veterinary clinic--cant handle the trauma when an animal she was tending to dies. It seems her dream of being a vet is not meant to be. But Adam, having acquired some new skills at the funeral home, comforts, counsels and consoles his grief-stricken sister—which makes Sharon realize that one day she still may become a vet. Meanwhile Josh tries to subvert expectations by examining other possible career paths instead of the one everyone thinks hell follow; music.

Sharon mistakenly assumes Nina got a nose job during March break and her innocent gossip snowballs out of control, ruining a public relations opportunity for Nina. But when its revealed that the nose job was just an incorrect assumption on Sharons part, Nina manages to milk the ensuing press coverage to her advantage. Meanwhile Maria tries--but isnt able—to tell Connor that bad breath might be an impediment to his blossoming romance with Alyson.

Josh really wants a shinny purple suit for his performance. Sharon gets into perfumes until she learns the perfume company does animal testing. She tries to get in touch with them but shes being avoided. So she starts protesting.

In an effort to prove shes not such a ""girly-girl"" Sharon decides to form an all girl rock group for a battle of the bands contest sponsored by a ‘girls magazine. Dion, thrilled at the opportunity to design their outfits, jumps on board, but when Mangled Metal hears about the gender limitations they are outraged. As a result, they decide to disguise themselves as females so they can enter the contest as well--and win the expensive music equipment. So as the girls take a walk on the masculine side (Im not sure that joining a rock group is necessarily a masculine thing to do), the guys dress like Britney Spears wannabes and call themselves the Mangled Petals. Hilarity ensues when everything comes out in the open at the concert – literally.

Sharon, the only one in her crowd whos not half of a couple, overcompensates by raving about her romantic Italian boyfriend, Marcello. So when he announces hes coming to visit, shes over the moon. And when he arrives, everything is great! But not for long; his ‘European-ness doesnt translate well to North America. Instead of being romantic and poetic, he just seems dorky and cornball. In an effort to recapture what they had, Sharon tries to make Marcello over into a more North Americanized version. When that doesnt work, she tries to avoid being alone with him. But Marcello doesnt take the hint. Then she tries to turn him off by making herself unattractive. When her scheme fails, Sharon is forced to hire ‘Dirty Work, a project that Adam and his pals started for their Economics Class. Their service is to do the deeds someone cant do on their own. But when the ‘Dirty Work messenger accidentally gives Connor the message, he thinks Alyson is trying to break up with him. Now Sharo

Brock writes a school play, Dr. Jekyll & Ms. Hyde. Sharon and Nina audition for the title role(s), but Nina wins the lead because her evil Ms. Hyde is so genuinely convincing - and Sharon is assigned the part of understudy. So Sharon tries to get Nina to drop out of the play by taking advantage of Ninas superstitious streak. Unfortunately, things go even better than Sharon had planned.

When Sharon demonstrates a natural talent for psychological insight, she suggests Maria join the boys hockey team to improve her game. Then Sharon becomes the unofficial team shrink by helping other players with their psychologically based playing problems. But when Maria has second thoughts about remaining on the boys team, Sharon puts her own agenda ahead of her friends.

When Sharon was younger she dropped out of ballet class. After realizing that shes still passionate about the artform and regrets having quit, she decides to start taking lessons again. But the only job she can find to pay for them is as a clown. The problem is that she has become a very klutzy ballerina - but is a natural born buffoon.

When her English teacher compliments Sharon on her poetry, Sharon decides to perform at a local poetry slam. And shes a hit until Adam - at Sharons urging - also performs. His natural talent gets even more attention, immediately eclipsing her moment in the sun. Not only that, Adam needs Sharons help for inspiration, but eventually Sharon isnt so sure she wants to help if its at her expense.

Mangled Metal needs to rehearse and finish a new song for an important performance that night. So Sharon runs a seemingly simple errand for the band while an exhausted Maria gets some well-deserved rest. Unfortunately Sharon has to baby-sit Davids twins while she does the errand and she botches it. Then the band starts to argue amongst themselves and it looks as if theyll break up before that nights performance. But rather than wake Maria up, Sharon scrambles to undo all the damage so her friend can get some much-needed sleep.

When Sharons expected prom date doesnt materialize, Lauren arranges another date; Taylor Knight, a pop star whos passing through town on a promotional tour, will escort her to the formal as part of a TV3 publicity stunt. At first Sharon is ecstatic about this sudden turn of events. The singing idol is one of Sharons faves! But she ultimately discovers that everything comes at a price.

Ever since Griffin has gotten a new girlfriend hes been nicer and better behaved. So Sharon is extremely curious who this girl is - until she discovers its Nina! Nina puts her best foot forward and really impresses Lauren and Richard. But Sharon thinks that Nina is destined to break Griffins heart, and ignoring the couples apparent happiness, she sets out to break them up.

Sharon is thrilled to land a job at the new medieval theme restaurant. But delight turns to dread when she learns her father works there too - as a wandering minstrel! This isnt exactly the cool, rock musician shes invited to her schools career day. Sharon tries to avoid embarrassment by un-inviting Richard to school but then Nina and her family show up at the restaurant for dinner and Sharons plans start to unravel! She decides that unless she can get the Harpers out of the restaurant before Richards act, shell never live down the humiliation at school.

Sharon is mistakenly invited to a cottage with Alden, Marlo, Maria and Brock. When she discovers the truth and that Alden and Marlo have some relationship issues to work out, she tries her best to give everyone - especially Alden and Marlo - their space! But Sharons attempts only make things worse and the weekend doesnt turn out as planned.

Pigger is offered an audition to be a pet food spokes-dog. Sharon is flattered and hesitant - Pigger doesnt seem the show-biz type! But Pigger gets the part and is to be coached by the famous canine expert, Bitsy Langford, so Sharon gives up control of her pet to Bitsy. The ad campaign is a big success so Pigger is invited on tour and Sharon reluctantly agrees to this, too, but then learns there are times to trust an expert…and times to trust gut feelings.

Sharon is helping Dion with the local ballet company wardrobe. Shes too busy to help with Laurens game show pilot, in which father-daughter teams compete. But Richard wants to help so he accepts an offer from Nina to be his TV daughter. When Sharon finds out, shes jealous and its too late to team up with Richard, so she pairs up with her moms boyfriend, David, instead! So obsessed with winning, Sharon ignores David and almost jeopardizes the game.

When Sharons cat, Moishe, accidentally gets out, Sharon tracks him to the home of the reclusive woman down the street and, surprisingly, bonds with her. But when Sharon tries to help with Mirandas menagerie of twenty-two cats, Animal Control finds out and confirms Miranda is breaking a city by-law. Now its up to Sharon - who was only trying to help - to make things right, before the city takes most of Mirandas cats away.

Sharons wiped from eating badly between exams and homework. The doctor tells her shes anemic and needs more iron in her diet. He suggests she go back to eating meat and Sharon is horrified. Vegetarianism is very important to her! And the only one who seems to understand is Cody, a great guy that Sharon has just met. Even though hes a meat-eater, hes totally sympathetic to her problem - until Sharon finds out he isnt as honest as he appears to be.
