When Felicity learns a male called the admissions office requesting a copy of her application essay, she assumes it was Ben — the subject of said essay — and sends him a copy. Meanwhile, Felicitys parents pop up in New York again.

After Noel acts on his feelings for Felicity and kisses her during a game of Boggle, the two decide to go on a "maybe date" to discuss the future of their relationship. Julie befriends an aspiring filmmaker.

Ben is accused of cheating after Felicity rewrites his paper without telling him; and Julie fears she wont understand a Russian film that Zack is taking her to see.

Noel tires of hearing about Felicitys goings-on with Ben and forbids her to talk about it with him. Julie and Zacks relationship intensifies. Elena reveals she may be leaving school. Julies date pushes her too far. Felicity tries to mend fences with Ben. Felicity urges Julie to report the date rape and get counseling, but Julie thinks she caused the incident. Meanwhile, a prospective student visits.

Though finals and Christmas break are fast approaching, Felicity spends most of her study time literally wrapped up in Noel; and helping Ben prepare for a poetry test. Meanwhile, Sean tries to sell fruit to students in the library.

After Felicity thinks she spots Blair kissing someone other than Elena, she decides to blow the whistle on him - until she realizes the mystery vixen is Elenas best friend. Meanwhile, Julie learns the identity of her birth mother.

When a boy that Felicity knew when she was 12-years-old comes to town to act on feelings that he has had for her, she consults someone familiar with stalkers: Ben. She also applies for a seminar with a geneticist named Dr. McGrath. Todd gets hit by a bus, and as he arrives at the hospital, he gives Felicity a note she wrote years ago about being an artist. Todd almost dies, which causes Felicity to rethink her career path and blow an interview with Dr. McGrath. Also, Julie mails a tape to Carole, and Elena severs ties with Tara.

Noel is confused about his feelings for his ex when they reconnect after a kiss. Also, an art student who admires Felicitys work invites her to the studio; and Julie clashes with Bens new friends from the swim team.

Panicked over a surprise visit from her parents, Meghan entrusts Felicity with the safekeeping of her box. Meanwhile, Julie gets bombshell news about her birth mother.

Facing temporary suspension because of his unpaid tuition bill and pressure from his bookie over his gambling debts, Ben frantically sorts through his diminishing options.

A disappointed Felicity faces the drive home to California without Noel, until he unexpectedly asks her to fly to Berlin with him. She accepts, but Bens reaction makes her rethink her plans. Meanwhile, Elenas relationship with Prof. McGrath progresses along with her growing unease about the consequences of their affair.

Felicity counsels an advisee, who is using tips from a magazine article to win the affections of her aloof boyfriend. Ben worries Felicity with his peculiar behavior. He finally reveals that he listened to her tape and cannot deal with the idea that she might love him. Felicity consults the magazine article and tries to get him back. She agrees to be less intense, but suddenly breaks up with Ben because she feels that he expects her to be someone else. She deals with her pain by getting a very short hair cut. Julie throws a big party (with cover charge) at the loft. Elena tries to help Noel get a girls phone number.

Felicity hears a rumor that Julie has written and performed a vicious song about her. They end up stuck in the same car for several hours after the subway breaks down. The other passengers overhear their sniping and get involved in their argument. An older man forces them to realize that they were never really as good friends as they believed. Noel and Ruby begin dating. Sean invents a condiment called ""smoothaise"" that he believes will make him rich. Ben meets a pushy caterer.

A mono epidemic hits the campus. After Meghan gets sick, Felicity tries to avoid the bug by staying with Elena and Noel. Felicity frets about the fact that David has yet to kiss her. Noel accidentally says Felicitys name while kissing Ruby. Ruby is furious to discover that Noel and Felicity hadnt told her the truth about their past relationship. A stranger offers Ruby a business card, claiming to be a movie producer. She follows up on the lead and ends up getting a major role in a Tom Cruise movie. Ben tells Sean that he was wrong to take his advice about not getting into a relationship with Felicity. Depressed after the university cuts the swim program, Ben convinces her to join him in blowing off some steam. They buy beer with his fake I.D. and break into the campus pool. Felicity blames herself for forcing her mother to give up all her dreams. She seriously considers Bens suggestion that they chuck everything and take a trip to Vienna. Noel struggles to make up with Ruby after an argument. She reveals the real reason that she is upset: she may be pregnant. Elena gets a ""sexy new lab partner."" A panicked Noel distances himself from Ruby. Ben enrolls in Noels philosophy section, at Dr. Pavones urging. Javier helps Felicity prepare for the beauty pageant. She befriends an aspiring singer, but has several run-ins with a bitchy contestant named Denise. Felicity asks her friends not to attend the pageant because she doesnt want them to see her in such an embarrassing situation. Noel lands a job as UNYs counselor, where he helps Ben with a registration problem. Felicity takes a pregnancy test, which turns out positive. She doesnt tell anyone but Elena, who recommends she go to the clinic for a blood test. Felicity eventually tells Noel that he might be the father of her child. Elena witnesses the awkwardness between Felicity and Noel and figures out what is going on. Ben sees a receipt for the blood test on Felicitys desk. He discovers that Noel already knew of Felicitys possible pregnancy, and goes to her for some answers. She claims that she was afraid of adding to Bens problems. Ben learns that his father is being hospitalized with liver failure. He reluctantly goes to the hospital and meets Lauren, a friend of Mr. Covingtons from A.A. She tells Ben that his father does not have long to live. Mr. Covington gives Ben power of attorney, and declares that he does not want to be hooked up to machines. He also insists that he will not take any pain medication because he has been sober for 67 days and does not want to use drugs of any kind. Ben postpones a ski trip that he and Felicity had planned for her birthday after his fathers condition worsens. Ben is surprised to learn that Mr. Covington was very helpful to Lauren when he served as her sponsor. She says that his dad talks about Ben all the time. Ben goes against his fathers wishes and puts him on a ventilator because there is a slim chance that he could regain enough strength to undergo a transplant. He confronts Lauren about keeping the news from him for so long. Although he is torn, he feels that he cannot take part in the childs life. Felicity learns that Ben has been injured in a car accident. Lauren suffered minor injuries, and the baby was unharmed. Felicity overhears the doctor say that Lauren was driving while drunk. Lauren is released from the hospital and leaves while Ben is still in surgery. Felicity chases after her and lays into her. Lauren later returns and apologizes.
