Ulysses Zane is struggling in the dating scene in LA. His best friend, Carly, is striving to become an actress. Ulys roommate, Ford, is an aspiring screenwriter dating Severine, an astrobiological theorist.

Severine reconnects with her ex-lover Mustafa. Famous director Otto West convinces Ford to do a risqué photo shoot. Uly is haunted by Gabriel. Carly partakes in a private lesson from her acting teacher, Frank.

Ford gets invited to a lavish party in Palm Springs and convinces Severine, Ulysses and Carly to come along. Ulysses has an encounter with renowned alien expert Mitchell Kent at a book signing. Carly meets artist Leif.

Ulysses meets social worker Isaac and falls for him fast. Severine surprises Ford by taking him to an "Eyes Wide Shut" party. Ford discovers that his photo shoot with Otto is on display for the whole world.

Severine has to go on a business trip to Roswell for an indefinite period, and Ford is devastated. Ulys relationship with Isaac intensifies. Carly runs into Leif, the artist she flirted with in Palm Springs.
