Tzvi was born and raised in Brooklyn NY in an ultraorthodox Jewish community that viewed most modern cinema as contraband As a result Tzvi grew up clandestinely watching films including his favorites Stanley Donens Charade Star Wars A New Hope and Fellinis 8 12 Strongly influenced by theology and remodernist art movements Tzvi strives to create thoughtprovoking and meaningful films that often contain spiritual themes His debut feature film MAN premiered at the Woodstock Film Festival
