Ken Marino is an American actor comedian director and screenwriter He was born on December 19 1968 in Long Island New York to an ItalianAmerican family He attended West Islip High School in West Islip New York and then studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute and Tisch School of the Arts at New York University in New York City Marino began his career as a cast member on MTVs sketch comedy series The State from 1993 to 1995 He has since starred in a number of television shows including Party Down 20092010 Marry Me 20142015 Burning Love 20122013 and Childrens Hospital 20082016 He has also appeared in films such as Wet Hot American Summer 2001 The Ten 2007 Wanderlust 2012 and Brooklyn NineNine 20132021 Marino is also a successful voice actor having voiced characters in the animated films Horton Hears a Who 2008 Monsters vs Aliens 2009 and The Lego Movie 2014 He has also appeared in a number of video games including Grand Theft Auto Vice City 2002 and The Simpsons Hit Run 2003 Marino is married to actress Erica Oyama and they have two children together He is a frequent collaborator with his friend and fellow actor David Wain and they have worked together on a number of projects including The State Wet Hot American Summer and Childrens Hospital
