Rebana Liz John

Rebana John is an artistfilmmaker from Mumbai India Filmmaking became her primary medium while studying at the Srishti School of Art Design and Technology in Bangalore India Her extensive experience includes work as an assistant artist a filmmaker and a video team manager She completed the PostGraduate Program in FilmMedia Art at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne Germany Her short films which include both fiction and documentary works The Fortunate Son 2007 Lamentations 2008 Echoes 2008 and PastsPaths 2017 illustrate her experimentations in direction and documentary practices which reframe established approaches and formats The short Ships Outside My Window 2018 has been shown at numerous film festivals and won the Best Student Documentary Award at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film FestivalIndias only independent film festivalheld in Delhi
