Lauren Musgrove

Lauren is an 8time Southeast Emmy winning filmmaker and an Assistant Professor at the University of Georgia She is a Director Producer and Actress known for Ugly Sweater 2024 Blossoming 2022 The Third Saturday in October 2022 and Its a Southern Thing 2017 She is the cofounder of Purple Magnet Productions Lauren was born and raised in Webster Texas by her parents Deborah and Robert Musgrove both with careers at NASA Her sister Lindsay Musgrove is an orthopedic surgeon Lauren has been married to engineer woodworker and musician William MacGavin since 2021 Lauren acted in her first play at the age of 6 and and made her first movie on a VHS tape at the age of 10 She now holds a BA in Media Production from The University of Alabama and an MFA in Film Media Art from Emerson College Her work explores places of vulnerability and inspiration in the human condition often engaging with scientific research and fantastical imagery She creates both fiction and nonfiction films as well as music videos
