Alex Sarrigeorgiou

Alex is an actor writer and filmmaker based in New York City Shes half Greek half Romanian and grew up in Athens Greece She studied drama at Vassar College and her poems have appeared in 82 Review Cactus Heart Press Hypertrophic Literary Fugue and The Tishman Review In 2017 Alex was ArtistinResidence at the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock NY She was also named finalist for the Money for Women Barbara Deming Memorial Fund in Poetry More recently Alex was selected as one of 30 poets for the 2019 Visible Poetry Project In 2018 Alex wrote produced and performed in Con Spirito a short film inspired by the college years of poet Elizabeth Bishop Her directorial debut short film Grip is on the festival circuit She is an ISA Development Slate writer
