Richard Paul Bacon is an English television and radio presenter He was a host of the childrens show Blue Peterhis first highprofile media roleuntil he was fired in 1998 after 18 months for admitting to taking cocaine He has since worked as a reporter or presenter on numerous television shows including The Big Breakfast and on radio stations including Capital FM Xfm London and BBC Radio Five Live In 2016 Bacon became the presenter of The National Geographic Channels reboot of its documentarypanel discussion TV series Explorer
