Dr. Charles Procter

Dr Procter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Miami University of Ohio in 1994 He then studied at the University of Georgia where he earned degrees in Microbiology and Cellular Biology He completed medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and trained in general surgery at the University of Kentucky and Greenville Health System in Greenville SC Dr Procter began his surgical career in 2007 with a heavy emphasis on minimally invasive bariatric and general surgery Having performed the first roboticassisted cholecystectomy in the state in 2008 he later became one of the first bariatric surgeons to adopt the fully robotic approach to the sleeve gastrectomy rouxen Y gastric bypass and duodenal switch procedures He has been performing bariatric surgery since 2007 and started Beltline Bariatric and Surgical Group in 2016 Additionally Dr Procter has a special interest in roboticassisted repair of complex hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery He is a member of the American Hernia Society and has published book chapters in the areas of bariatric surgery and hernia
