The son of famed evangelical theologian Francis A Schaeffer 19121984 Francis Frank Schaeffer left the Presbyterian church and pursued a career in writing and filmmaking His first original film Wired to Kill was released in 1986 he went on to direct several more Hollywood films and has since offered political commentary from the unique point of view of an evangelicalturnedatheist
