Jaylah Jimya Hickmon born August 14 1998 known professionally as Doechii is an American rapper and singer After releasing her debut EP Oh the Places Youll Go 2020 she rose to prominence with the viral success of her song Yucky Blucky Fruitcake on TikTok in 2021 She signed with Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records through which she released her sophomore EP SheHerBlack Bitch in 2022 The single Persuasive was released with a remix featuring SZA and earned Doechii a spot on the Billboard Mainstream RBHipHop Airplay In 2023 she released the single What It Is Block Boy featuring Kodak Black which marked her first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number 60 She has received nominations for an MTV Video Music Award and two Soul Train Music Award In 2023 she was awarded the Rising Star Award from Billboard Women in Music
