From 1968 to 1973, the Bruder family used a Super-8 camera to document their everyday life in the Märkisches Viertel district of Berlin-Reinickendorf. They got the camera from the filmmaker Helga Reidemeister, who was working as a social worker on site at the time. Over a period of six years, the family, without the intervention of the filmmaker, recorded their everyday life. The film is a precise look at the living conditions of a working-class family in the Märkisches Viertel of the early 70s, a study on the architectural conditionality of social relationships and a document of a process of consciousness. Despite all the roughness, the film is always of an amazing complexity.

Underground is a 1976 documentary film about the Weathermen, founded as a militant faction of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), who fought to overthrow the U.S. government during the 1960s and 1970s. The film consists of interviews with members of the group after they went underground and footage of the anti-war and civil rights protests of the time. It was directed by Emile de Antonio, Haskell Wexler and Mary Lampson, later subpoenaed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in an attempt to confiscate the film footage in order to gain information that would help them arrest the Weathermen. The movie Logans Run (1976) depicts a supposedly Utopian society in the 23rd century, but one where, as producer Saul David puts it, \there is a worm in the apple\. The filmmakers use current technology and ideals of pleasure to depict this perfect future. Director Michael Anderson finds meshing these two worlds an exciting challenge, especially in trying to create something that has never been seen before in the movies. The studios technology department plays a key role in creating Anderson and Davids vision. The movies stars, Michael York and Jenny Agutter, provide their take on the movie, their roles and working with each other and with fellow co-star Richard Jordan. The filmmakers also need to create the antithesis of the modern Utopian world for the scenes taking place outside of the domed world.

Protect and Survive was a public information series on civil defence produced by the British government during the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was intended to inform British citizens on how to protect themselves during a nuclear attack, and consisted of a mixture of pamphlets, radio broadcasts, and public information films. The series had originally been intended for distribution only in the event of dire national emergency, but provoked such intense public interest that the pamphlets were authorised for general release.

In 1969 Michel Auder began a series of video diaries that chronicled the art scene in downtown New York. In Chelsea Girls with Andy Warhol, Auder captures revealing moments in Warhols public and private life: the opening of the 1970 Whitney Museum retrospective, a party held at John Lennon and Yoko Onos home, a heated telephone conversation between Warhol, Viva and Brigid Berlin, and an illuminating interview conducted with Larry Rivers, the grandfather of Pop Art, following the publication of The Philosophy of Andy Warhol in 1975. The issue of money is a consistent topic of conversation with Viva, who after departing the Factory in 1969 sent Warhol a series of threatening letters demanding money.
