Donald and Goofy rent a sailboat. This boat is a bit unusual: to rent it, you put a nickel in a slot, and the mast and sail pop up. Unfortunately, after a while, they pop back down. When Donald runs out of nickels, they are marooned. Goofy waves his shirt at a passing cruise ship, but they (and he) mistake this for a friendly greeting. A flying fish lands in the boat; while the boys fight over it, a gull grabs it. They try to bash the gull, which lands atop their heads, with predictable results. Finally, as the sharks circle, they try fishing, with Donald as the unwitting bait. He eventually lands back in the boat, where his bill lands in the coin slot and gives them a way home.

The panther enters a bullfight ring with the magical cape, and the bull is thwarted not by the panthers bullfighting prowess but by the capes trickery, in that it deposits flowers onto the bulls horns and produces a foul-tempered, kicking rabbit that angers the bull into running through the cape and being split into two halves.

Porky and Daffy run a diner. The eggs come from chickens kept on the premises. A customer orders a hamburger, and Daffy discovers the mice have gotten to the meat first and left a note. He spots a calf outside and goes after it but ends up having to fight off a large bull. Meanwhile, Porky is preparing an order of two eggs, but one of them is actually a baby chick, who runs away. Daffy manages to sic the bull on Porky, who does some acrobatics to escape until Daffy lures the bull back to him. The bull finally crashes into the diner.

Seven-spotted ladybug Rube lives in a glass cage inside a greenhouse inside a glassy laboratory. He longs for legendary bug utopia Golden Canyon. When he helps dragonfly Master Water escape wasp guards that have chased him into the laboratory, he accepts the suggestion to travel together. But Master Water has no intention of going to Golden Canyon, and abandons Rube. At a nearby pond, a frog prince nearly swallows Master Water whole. Rube comes to his rescue, his parrying making the frogs lashing tongue become knotted in water reeds. When Rube sets him free, the frog sends his royal guards to escort them to a giant bird that flies over Golden Canyon. The giant bird is, in fact, an airplane. Jumping off the plane mid-route, they arrive at bug utopia only to find - a construction site. While scavanging for food, Master Water is captured by human kid Little Fatty, who collects bugs in a glass jar guarded by his pet lizard T-Rex. Rube comes to the rescue again, throwing himself against the jar with all his strength, knocking it off its shelf and knocking out T-Rex. When T-Rex regains consciousness, he starts to banquet on the fleeing critters only for Wasp Queen to arrive with her royal troops. Also duped by Master Water, she has repeatedly sent her guards to arrest him. But moved by Rubes go-it-alone courage, she now sends them to help. United for the first time, the bugs defeat the lizard, and together re-build their adopted homeland.

She picks herself, and drops another flowerpot, which restores him.

Donald is preparing a little picnic when he sees some ants passing by. He decides to tease one, ultimately by piling lots of food onto it. The ant eventually stumbles, but realizes Donald is sitting on a veritable gold mine. He rallies his fellow ants, and while Donald is napping, they cart him to a cliff and drop him into the river. When he returns to the raid in progress, he finds himself powerless to stop it. He dynamites the ant hill, but that only separates the ledge hes standing on, and he finds himself in the river again as the ants finish off a cupcake.
