Walking Tall Collection
Collection
Walking Tall is a 1973 American action semi-biopic film of Sheriff Buford Pusser, a former professional wrestler-turned-lawman in McNairy County, Tennessee. It starred Joe Don Baker as Pusser. The film was directed by Phil Karlson. Based on Pusser's true story, it was a combination of very loosely based fact and Hollywood revisionism. The original Walking Tall was a hit, but the sequels, Walking Tall Part 2 (September 28, 1975), and Walking Tall: Final Chapter (August 10, 1977), both starring Bo Svenson, were far less profitable.

The plot concerns a young man, Tim Jensen, who must confront the childhood terror that has affected his life. Despite receiving negative reviews from critics, the film was a financial success, and was followed by two direct-to-video sequels, Boogeyman 2 (2007) and Boogeyman 3 (2008).

The second film sees both using corrupt methods to prove their worth, leading to suspension but later reuniting to take down a criminal gang. The third film depicts their reunion years later, reminiscing on past achievements and lamenting the decline in police honor and camaraderie. The corrupt cop, cynical and jaded by the French justice system's flaws, encourages his partner to adopt a practical approach.
